School Rules
School
is for learning and students come to school to learn.
Everything done at school should be to enhance learning.
With this in mind, we have four basic rules:
1. A student may not do anything that could hurt someone else.
2. A student may not do anything that could hurt himself.
3. A student may not do anything that could destroy someone
else's property.
4. A student may not do anything that could destroy his own or
public property.
According
to school Board Rules, students may be suspended for repeated
disruption or behavior, with disrupts the orderly educational
process.
According
to the Code of Student Conduct, suspension and expulsion by the
School Board upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
Schools may result when the pupil has:
1. Possessed, used, or transmitted a substance capable of
modifying mood or behavior.
2. Possessed, used, or transmitted a weapon including, but not
limited to a gun, knife,
razor,
explosive, ice pick, or club.
3. Used any article as a weapon or in a manner reasonably
calculated to threaten any person.
4. Committed a serious breach of conduct including, but
not limited to assault on school
personnel or on another pupil, a lewd or lascivious act, arson,
vandalism, or any other act,
which disrupts or tends to disrupt the orderly conduct of the
school activity.
5. Engaged in less serious but continuing misconduct including,
but not limited to, the use of
profane, obscene, or abusive language or other acts that are
detrimental to the
educational function of the school. Any expulsion recommendation based on
such
misconduct shall include a detailed report by the principal on the corrective measure
taken
prior to this recommendation of expulsion.
6. Suspension can also occur for excessive tardiness.
